We’ve learnt how to find the volume of pyramids and cones. You can find the formulae here. In each case, just multiply the base area by the perpendicular height and divide by three.
To find the surface area of a pyramid, draw the net of the pyramid then work out the area of each face. Add these areas together.
To find the curved surface area of a cone you can use the formula pi x r x l where r is the radius and l is the slant length. Sometimes you need to use Pythagoras to work out the slant length. Always check whether the question also wants you to add on the area of the base.
If you want to do some practice of volumes and surface area, try the homeworks on MyMaths under Shape>Volume and Surface Area.
